Gravity Conveyors

Gravity conveyors are ideal for decline applications where forward product motion does not need to be controlled. But it is most widely used in horizontal applications for manual accumulation or product transfer. It is also used on inspection lines and packing or assembly lines. Because gravity conveyor is normally a manual operation, guard rail of various types are quite often added for both employee and product safety.

At Progress Material Handling, we use both painted mild steel side channels and pre-galvanized side channels. Side channels can be made in almost any size but keep in mind that we can roll our side channels for curve requirements.
Thirty, forty five, sixty and ninety degree curves can be rolled in side channels with a profile dimension of:

• 1 1/8” x 2 ½” x 1 1/8” in 11 gauge material using 1.4” rollers
• 1 1/8” x 3 ½” x 1 1/8” in 11 gauge material using 1.9” rollers

For heavier loads, we use heavier gauge side channels and rollers. For these applications we form 3/16” mild steel to the customers specifications and 2.5” 11 gauge rollers with 11/16” hex shafts.
